Stefan Marx (illustrator)

Stefan Marx (born January 6, 1979 in Schwalmstadt ) is a German draftsman .

Life

Marx studied at the HAW in Hamburg with Jovica Veljovic (typography) and with Heinz Petzold (communication theory / cultural philosophy). He started with designs for skateboards, record covers and T-shirts. Later he added designs for a fashion label and a porcelain factory. He created large wall paintings in the Kunstverein Hamburg in 2009 and on house fronts during the exhibition "Urban Arts Ruhr" 2019. His characteristic is a humorous black and white painting based on texts. His extensive drawings, which vary between comic and grotesque, have been produced in numerous books and were shown in 2017 at the Hamburger Kunsthalle. The artist lives and works in Berlin.
