Stefan Schmitz (theologian)

Stefan Schmitz (* 1943 in Zeltingen on the Moselle ) is a German Catholic theologian .

Schmitz studied Catholic theology and German at the University of Bonn . From 1971 to 1977 he was a research assistant at the seminar for dogmatics and theological propaedeutics. With an investigation into language, society and history with Franz Baader , he received his doctorate from the University of Bonn. theol. Since 1977 he has been theological advisor for the training of pastoral staff at the Archbishop's General Vicariate in Cologne. He later became theological advisor in the school department of the Archbishop's General Vicariate in Cologne. He has been married since 1973 and has four children. Eugen Drewermann wrote the foreword to his book Finding oneself in people in the Bible .
