Steffen Kaiser

Steffen Kaiser (born March 2, 1966 in Leipzig ) is a German theater and opera director.

biography

From 1986 to 1991 Kaiser studied musical theater directing at the “Hanns Eisler” Academy of Music in Berlin with Harry Kupfer , Ruth Berghaus and Peter Konwitschny . From 1991 to 1993 he was opera director at the Greifswald Theater . Parallel to his stint as a master student with Ruth Berghaus at the Academy of the Arts , he accepted a guest professorship at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music for drama lessons and drama in 1993 and has since been a member of the diploma examination committee. He is a freelance director in music theater and acting on German stages and has made guest appearances as a director a. a. in Russia, Turkey, the Netherlands, Switzerland. His most famous productions include Der Ja-Sager at the Berliner Ensemble , Der Vetter aus Dingsda at the Staatstheater Kassel and Il turco in Italia at the Devlet Opera in Izmir .
