The Steigerturm Ronsdorf is a striking architectural monument in Ronsdorf , a current district of the Bergisch metropolis of Wuppertal in North Rhine-Westphalia / Germany . The riser tower is located in the area of ​​the older area of ​​the fire station in Ronsdorf. On the left is the old part of the vehicle hangar with parking spaces for two emergency vehicles . To the right of the tower is the former lounge of the extinguishing unit , which is now used by the youth fire brigade .

The tower was built in 1892 and has been a listed building since 1992 . It has a height of about 16 meters. The ground floor was built in brick form. The three floors above were made of wood. Even if fire hoses are no longer dried in the tower as they used to be, it still serves as the extinguishing unit for exercises with plug-in and extension ladders .
