The Asbeck quarry is an active lime quarry southeast of Oberrödinghausen and west of Eisborn , Märkischer Kreis . It belongs to the Rheinkalk company , a subsidiary of the Belgian Lhoist Group , the world's largest manufacturer of lime and dolomite products. He holds Middle Devonian mass limestone in banked facies. The broken material is roughly crushed in the break in a crusher and transported to the processing plant in Oberrödinghausen on a conveyor belt. In the processing plant in Oberrödinghausen, lime is extracted from the limestone, which is used for a wide variety of uses.

There are two lakes in the quarry.

The quarry is to be expanded by 80 hectares in 2023. A citizens' initiative is fighting against this expansion.
