The Lasbeck quarry is located in Iserlohn - Lasbeck , west of Nachrodt , in the valley of the Lasbeck brook . In it is grauwacke the Honseler layers (of the Upper Middle Devonian -stage Givet ) degraded. Up to 900,000 tons are mined every year. She is being transported away by truck. The operator is the French road construction company Eurovia . She acquired it from Carl Risch GmbH in 2010.

In 2013, an application was made to expand the quarry. Before the public hearing on November 19, 2013 in the council chamber in Iserlohn as part of the immission control approval process, the residents pointed out that around 70,000 truck trips through the residential area take place every year , assuming a load of 25 tons per vehicle. Approval for the expansion was granted in September 2014. In 2015 a riding stables with half-timbered houses from the 19th century were demolished and reforested.

Significant finds of barite have been recorded in the mineral-poor rock .
