The Weuste quarry is an active quarry in the district of Hobeuken , Sprockhövel , Ennepe-Ruhr district . It is east of Schee and west of Haßlinghausen . It is operated by the company Steinbruch und Sägebetrieb Lange . The quarry is in the area of ​​the Herzkämper Mulde . Ruhr sandstone from the Kaisberg formation from the Upper Carboniferous period is open here .

In 1802, 16 quarries were named in what is now the Sprockhövel town. From 1845 there was also a mining company at this location, Zeche Heller Mittag .
