The stone boxes from Könnern-Cörmigk in the Salzlandkreis in Saxony-Anhalt were found in 2017 on an area of around three hectares in a small burial ground .

Six north-south oriented graves of the end-Neolithic bell - cup culture lay in two parallel rows. Three consisted of three grave pits and three stone boxes made of carefully placed, flat stone slabs. The stone boxes were approximately the same size, 1.0 to 1.3 m long and 0.6 to 0.8 m wide. In two cases, human bones were preserved. A man's skeleton in a crouched position lay on the left side in the typical position for bell-cup graves, the head in the north with the view to the east. The three grave pits were parallel to this at some distance. One or two ceramic vessels were found in all six graves.

The bell beaker culture extended over almost all of Europe and existed from 2600 to about 2200 BC. Chr.
