The four stone boxes from Loanleven (also called Almondbank or Methven Loch) are located west of Methven Loch, east of Methven, at Almondbank in Perth and Kinross in Scotland . Four stone boxes and part of a surrounding ring trench filled with stones were exposed and excavated. The Bronze Age boxes date calibrated between 2140 and 1530 BC. Chr.

  • The west-east oriented box 1 contained a burial with the head at the east end and a reused, ring-marked stone on the south side of the box. The ring-marked plate from box 1 is now in the Perth Museum and Art Gallery.
  • The antique, disturbed north-south oriented box 2 contained a cremation in a food container.
  • The northeast-southwest-oriented box 3 contained a burial with the head at the northeast end.
  • Crate 4, disturbed by gravel mining, contained a cremation with burned flint and a flint tool with a finely jagged edge.

The ring trench, 1.25 m wide, 0.65 m deep and disturbed by gravel mining, has an inside diameter of around 20.0 m. The earth backfilling of the trench indicates an outer wall. Later the moat was filled with stones.
