Ardblair stone circle

The stone circle of Ardblair (also known as Leys of Marlee, Blairgowrie; Leys or Essendy Road ), cut since 1856 by Essendy Road (B947) , lies west of Muirton of Ardblair, southwest of Blairgowrie in Perth and Kinross in Scotland .

The western and northeast stones were moved to make way for the road, and the southern one was broken and set in concrete during road works. In the stone circle with about 14.4 m diameter six stones have survived. The approximately 1.8 m high southwest stone is the highest.

Aubrey Burl reports that the alternative name for the circle, "Leys of Marlee", is an Anglicized form of the Gaelic "mon liae" ( German  "the big stones" ).
