Gortnatubbrid Stone Circle

The stone circle of Gortnatubbrid is in the eponymous townland ( Irish Gort na Tiobratan ) south of Baile Bhuirne in County Cork in Ireland .

The five- stone stone circle of the Cork-Kerry series has an absent axial stone. Four stones between 0.6 m and 0.9 m high, which are higher in the northeast, which is typical for stone circles of the Cork-Kerry series, have been preserved. The missing axial stone is usually the lowest, so there is a chance it may be present but buried.

The associated row of stones is nearby and, apart from being an integral part of this circular complex, is inconspicuous. The relationship between circle and series is unclear, but it is important that they be viewed in context.

Nearby is the stone circle of Gortanacra .
