Entry to the Lissyviggeen stone circle

There are 187 stone circles in the Republic of Ireland . The majority is in County Cork , with 103 counties . 20 counties are in County Kerry and 11 in County Mayo . The stone circle of the Cork-Kerry series (after Seán Ó Nualláin also called Axial Stone Circle (ASC - axial stone circle or Embanked Stone Circle )) consists of seven stones, which are set in a circle about four meters in diameter. The odd stone number is the hallmark of this series. An earth wall up to two meters high and three to five meters wide with an outer diameter of 20 m encloses the stone circle, which is a rare constellation (similar to Grange and Moanmore East ). A pair of outliers ( English outlier ) is 11.5 m south of the wall. The 1.7 and 2.35 m high stones are 2.2 m apart.
