The stone circle of Moanmore East ( Irish An Mhóin Mhór Thoir - also called Masonbrook or The Seven Monuments ) is located 2.4 km southeast of Loughrea , directly on the road to Tynagh and Portumna . The rare walled stone circle is marked on the OSI map as “Seven Monuments”. Besides the stone circles of Streamstown in Connemara and Ballynakill (nearby), it is the only surviving stone in County Galway , Ireland .

It is a circle of seven stones, which (like Lissyviggeen and Grange ) stands in a kind of henge , a ring of earthworks about one meter high and 22 meters in diameter, which has a single gap that is regarded as the entrance. The stones have been put back up and the small cairn in the middle of the ring was not created until the 19th century.

There is a terraced hill nearby and the Turoe Stone 8.5 km away . A townland of the same name is in County Carlow .
