Barryshall stone pairs

The stone pairs of Barryshall ( Irish Múchnaigh ) stand east of Barryshall Country House, southwest of Timoleague in County Cork in Ireland . There are two groups of stones on the pasture immediately east of the house.

The western group is a pair of stones. The northeast-southwest oriented stones are 2.2 meters apart. The southwest stone is 2.65 meters high and 1.8 meters wide. The smaller stone is only 1.2 meters high and 0.55 meters wide.

About 50 meters to the northeast there are two menhirs ( English standing stones ) at a distance of 1.8 m. The higher stone is 1.63 meters high and 1.07 meters wide. The high stone could be part of the row of stones because it is aligned with the pair of stones, but the low, chunky, slightly tilted stone is oriented differently than the rest of the stones on the field.
