Emergence Early iron age ?

The stone setting of Trittau is probably an early Iron Age stone setting near Trittau in the Stormarn district , Schleswig-Holstein .

location

The stone setting is located northeast of Trittau on the northeastern edge of the Hahnheide . It is located in the swampy headwaters of the Bille . Not far away is the Kleine Hahnheider Berg , the highest point in the Stormarn district. Originally there were probably more rows of stones and cup stones in the vicinity .

description

The stone setting consists of three standing stones, a circle of lying stones, which also includes a larger grooved stone , which was bordered by a stone pavement. The diameter of the stone circle is 6.5 m. In 2005 , Johannes Groht still considered the groove on the larger stone to be a modern attempt at splitting, but then complied with Detlef Schünemann in 2013 , who already considered the groove to be prehistoric in 1992. The stone lies today. It is unclear whether it was originally erect and therefore also whether it can be addressed as a menhir .
