Stephan Frucht

Stephan Frucht (born June 28, 1972 in Hanover ) is a German cultural manager and musician . From 2006 to 2014 he was the managing director of the Kulturkreis der Deutschen Wirtschaft in the Federation of German Industries (BDI) in Berlin. From 2015 artistic director of the Siemens Arts Program , Berlin / Munich.

Life

Stephan Frucht studied music in Hanover (University of Music and Theater) and Berlin (University of the Arts). After completing his violin diploma with Thomas Brandis, he studied conducting for a further four semesters at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin, before working for a short time as the orchestra director of the Philharmonic of Nations. From 2003 to 2006 he was brought to the CDU / CSU parliamentary group as a cultural advisor, where he accompanied, among other things, the work of the “Culture in Germany” commission in the German Bundestag.

In parallel to his artistic training, he studied human medicine and received his doctorate in 2002 from the Humboldt University in Berlin. The double degree was made possible by various grants, including the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (music), the Hanns Seidel Foundation (medicine) and the Richard Wagner Association . In addition, he received several awards, including the chamber music prize of the Berlin radio stations and prizes at " Jugend musiziert ". As a conductor with Sony Music, he has released numerous CD recordings. As a producer, he is also the publisher of numerous music and print productions. Between 2006 and 2015 he worked as managing director in the culture group of the German economy in the BDI as well as in the cultural foundation of the German economy. Since 2014 he has been an honorary professor at the University of Music in Karlsruhe. From March 2015 he will take over the artistic direction of the Siemens Arts Program and the global direction of all culture and sponsorship programs of Siemens AG.

Mandates and memberships

As an elected member of the advisory board of the GVL (Society for the Utilization of Ancillary Rights), Frucht represents the group of conductors and artistic producers. He is also on the board of the Brandenburg Summer Concerts, on the editorial board of the German Standards for Corporate Collections, a member of the University Council of the Karlsruhe University of Music, a member of the board of trustees of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation , a founding member of the Dresden World Culture Forum and a member of the VBKI culture committee in Berlin and the Music Industry Dialogue Forum independent sound carrier manufacturer (VUT), in GEMA, in the Kulturkreis der Deutschen Wirtschaft eV and in the Rotary Club Berlin Nord.
