Work as a choir director

In 1980, when Stephan Kerschbaum was a 15-year-old high school student, he founded the St. Thekla children's choir , today Kerschbaums Tonvoll . He has directed it ever since and has performed and premiered most of his compositional work with this choir. In 1992 he founded an adult choir (Auftakt St. Thekla ) for singers from the age of 16, now the choir is called Tonvoll Chor and is directed by Christian Martinsich. In the meantime, both choirs have been brought together in the Tonvoll association and are no longer based in the parish of St. Thekla (1040 Vienna), but an independent association with its own choir in Vienna's 4th district.
