Stephanie Wheeler (born January 16, 1981 in Norlina , North Carolina ) is an American wheelchair basketball player .

Wheeler graduated from the University of Illinois where she received a bachelor's degree in kinesiology . During her time at the University of Illinois, she became a three-time national champion with the university's wheelchair basketball team. She is currently preparing her PhD at the University of Alabama . Wheeler is a member of the college's wheelchair basketball team and acts as a player and assistant coach.

In 2004 and 2008 , she won gold medals at the Paralympic Games with the US women's wheelchair basketball team.

Wheeler's home town is currently Tuscaloosa , Alabama.
