Test partner is a programming tool for test automation for the functional test software from Micro Focus. It is used for dynamic regression tests. The aim of the tests are applications with a graphical user interface (GUI). While HP dominates the market for commercial test software with a share of 65%, Borland , Micro Focus and IBM share almost all of the remaining market.
TestPartner records user actions and can play them back at a later time. TestPartner also tests COM objects before a GUI is available for the application.
Test procedure
TestPartner offers two modes for developing test cases: Visual Test and Test Script . The visual test is a visually easy to understand, storyboard- based approach. This function records every window of the application and the user action (s) carried out for each test step . The test can later be changed without the application to be tested having to be available. With the test script , VBA code is generated when recording .
In both modes it is possible to change test cases by e.g. B. loops , branches or test points can be inserted. External test data can be addressed. This test approach is called data-driven . TestPartner also enables the keyword-driven test approach.
Development and system environment
Various development environments are supported, including .NET , Sun Java (Java SE 6) , SAP GUI for Windows 7.10 and SAP Web Application Server .
The software runs on standard PCs under different versions of Microsoft Windows . Various databases are supported, including MS SQL Server , MS Access and Oracle . The database servers can also run under Unix .
