Stephanos (grammarian in the 12th century)
Stephanos was a grammarian of the 12th century who probably taught in Constantinople .
From his most important work, a commentary on Aristotle 's rhetoric , comments on books 1, 2 to 3,9 have come down to us. In the commentary, the closeness to Aphthonios and Hermogenes becomes clear, whose teaching he also tried to convey in practical lessons. His comment, which also testifies to the preoccupation with geometry , philosophy , theology and rhetoric , probably emerged from practical teaching in class.
