Stephanos (grammarian in the 7th century)

Stephanos was a Byzantine grammarian of the early 7th century . From his commentary on the Techne (grammar) of Dionysius Thrax , some excerpts have been preserved. There Stephanos can prove himself to be a good expert on stoic philosophy and language theory. Other parts of the tradition associated with him can no longer be clearly assigned to him or to other authors who are often mentioned with him in Scholia collections, such as Heliodor , Choiroboskos or Melampus .
