The St. Stephen's Church (Pol. Kościół św. Szczepana ) in Krakow is a Catholic church on ul. Sienkiewicza 19 in Kraków's Krowodrza .

history

The church was built between 1933 and 1938 in the modern style by Zdzisław Mączeński . The church was profaned during the German occupation and consecrated again in 1958 by the later Pope John Paul II (then Bishop Karol Wojtyła). In the church there are works of art from the dismantled St. Stephen's Church in the old town , including the baroque altar from 1588 with the image of the martyrdom of St. Stephen of Hans von Aachen , the Gothic baptismal font from 1425 and the reliquary shrines of St. Stephen and Ursula.
