Stephanus Church (Überruhr-Hinsel)
The Stephanuskirche is a Protestant church in the Essen district of Überruhr . It was built from 1881 to 1882 in the neo-Gothic style.
history
The foundation stone of the church was laid on May 30, 1881. On September 7, 1882, the building was ceremoniously handed over to its intended use. The architect of this church was August Hartel .
The church building suffered some war damage in World War II. A few of them in May 1943. The church was not destroyed by this. From 1969 to 1974 the church remained unused. Then the war damage was repaired.
The church was on 23 November 1989 under monument protection provided.
