Stephen O'Halloran (born November 29, 1987 in Cobh ) is an Irish football player who is currently active for Coventry City in the Football League Championship .

Career

O'Halloran's youth clubs were the Cobh Ramblers and Springfield Ramblers in his native Ireland. In 2003 the Irishman moved to the youth department of the Birmingham club Aston Villa . From 2006 to February 2007 O'Halloran played on loan with the Wycombe Wanderers on the left back position. After he had been back in the Aston Villa squad since February 2007, he moved in January 2008 - again on loan - for a month at Southampton FC . There he came only to one use as a substitute, before he was loaned to Leeds United in February 2008 . Already in the warm-up phase for his debut, he tore a cruciate ligament that will presumably put him out of action well into the 2008/09 season. For the 2009/10 season O'Halloran was classified in the reserve team of Aston Villa - a fixed shirt number for use in the professional team was withheld from him.

O'Halloran played internationally in the U-15, U-16, U-17 and U-21 teams of Ireland. In 2007 he finally came to the Irish senior team for his first two appearances.
