The command staff of the Air Force (feet L) was from 1 June 1957 to 30 March 2012, a department of the German Federal Ministry of Defense (MoD) service located on the Hardthöhe in Bonn . At the same time, he was responsible for commanding the air force . After its dissolution, its tasks were transferred to the newly established command authorities; a small part of them remained in the BMVg.

The air force command staff was subordinate to the air force inspector and most recently had three staff departments with six departments each and the department for central tasks (Fü L / Z).
