The Luftwaffe Command (Kdo Lw) is the only higher command authority of the Air Force subordinate to the Federal Ministry of Defense (BMVg) . It was set up in the course of the realignment of the Bundeswehr on October 1, 2012 by transferring the former command staff of the Air Force , is the top management level of this branch of the Bundeswehr and is led by the Inspector of the Air Force.
Insinuation
The command is the Air Force Chief of Staff Air Force assumed and has his official residence in Berlin-Gatow in the General Steinhoff - Kaserne . Until the infrastructure there is completed, parts of the command will be temporarily housed in the Wahn air force barracks in Cologne-Wahn .
Subordinate troops
The following departments are subordinate to the Air Force Command to fulfill its tasks.
With the establishment of the air force command on July 1, 2015, the command of the operational units of the air force and the command of the support units of the air force were dissolved and merged into the newly established air force command. While one of the core tasks of the Center for Air Operations is to provide the air situation for Germany, the Air Force Command is in charge of all air force squadrons.
assignment
- Troop service management of the military organization area of the air force
- Establishing and maintaining the Luftwaffe's conceptually prescribed capabilities by the Inspector General of the Bundeswehr, as well as ensuring the Luftwaffe's personnel and material capabilities and operational readiness
- Ensuring training is the responsibility of the Air Force, including pre-deployment training
- Advising the commander of the Bundeswehr Operations Command on all air force-specific matters and providing support in maintaining the operational readiness of the Air Force deployed and subordinate to the Bundeswehr Operations Command
- Ensuring the specified continuous deployment tasks and exercising the powers within the framework of assigned specialist, armed forces or joint tasks
