The Cyber and Information Space Command ( KdoCIR ) in Bonn is the command command of the Bundeswehr's cyber and information space (CIR), which is being set up on April 5, 2017 .

history

On April 5, 2017, Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen officially put the cyber and information room command in Bonn into service with a roll call. In addition, she gave Lieutenant General Ludwig Leinhos responsibility for command.

With a solemn roll call on June 30, 2017, the capability commands that had previously been part of the armed forces base , the strategic reconnaissance command and the information technology command of the Bundeswehr , were placed under the CIR command.

Cooperations

Since 2019 there has been a cooperation between the CIR command and the Bitkom digital association . The joint focus of the cooperation is on the development and use of information and communication technologies in the cyber and information space against the background of national and alliance defense and national security precautions.
