CC motif chemokine 6 (CCL6) is a protein from the group of chemokines in mice and rats .

properties

CCL6 is induced in the course of inflammation by interferon-gamma , interleukin-1 and tumor necrosis factors and is formed by neutrophils and macrophages . CCL6 is also induced by interleukin 13 . The amino acids 21 to 95 and 22 to 95 show a chemotactic effect on lymphocytes , neutrophils, and monocytes . CCL6 binds to CCR1 . It is an inflammatory chemokine and strengthens the signaling pathways of ERK1 and ERK2 as well as the activity of GTPases . CCL6 has two disulfide bridges .

In cell cultures of bone marrow cells is amplified by stimulation with GM-CSF expressed . Furthermore, it is in the cell lines DA3 and 32D cl3 (myeloid cell line) and the macrophage cell line P388D expressed. Expression is greatly reduced in activated T cell lines . In mice, the gene is on chromosome 11.
