The Organization field equipment, information technology and use ( AIN ) is in the armed forces , a civil organization area of defense administration .

tasks

The task of the organizational area is to equip the Bundeswehr with powerful and functionally reliable equipment through the development, testing, procurement and usage management of defense material.

The organizational area is managed by the equipment department in the Federal Ministry of Defense . This department is divided into:

Of the organization area includes the Federal Office for the equipment, information technology and use of the German Federal Armed Forces (BAAINBw) as a federal authority with seat in Koblenz , which occupies a central role in the organization area and its downstream region (including six Wehrtechnische Directory ):

• Defense technology department for land-based vehicle systems, pioneer and troop technology (WTD 41) in Trier
• Defense technical department for protection and special technology (WTD 52) in Schneizlreuth ( Oberjettenberg )
• Defense technical department for aircraft and aviation equipment of the Bundeswehr (WTD 61) in Manching
• Defense Technology Service for Ships and Naval Weapons, Maritime Technology and Research (WTD 71) in Eckernförde
• Defense Technical Center for Information Technology and Electronics (WTD 81) in Greding
• Defense technology department for weapons and ammunition (WTD 91) in Meppen
• Naval Arsenal (MArs) in Wilhelmshaven
  • Marine Arsenal Technical System Service (MArs TSS) in Wilhelmshaven

history

The organizational area was created in the course of the realignment of the Bundeswehr . With this, the then two organizational areas of the Bundeswehr administration, territorial defense administration and armaments area, were divided into the three new organizational areas of personnel and infrastructure, environmental protection and services as well as equipment, information technology and use.
