The Inspector of the Army (InspH) is the supreme superior of the Army branch of the German Armed Forces .

He is responsible for the personnel and material readiness of the army. The inspector of the army reports directly to the inspector general of the Bundeswehr . The inspector is responsible for the army command with the subordinate divisions (and division equivalents) and the army office with the subordinate training and support facilities. As part of the nationwide concept, he is a member of the Military Leadership Council , chaired by the Inspector General.

The inspector and his deputy hold the rank of lieutenant general .
