The Inspector of the Armed Forces Base ( InspSKB ) is the highest person responsible for the armed forces base of the Bundeswehr .

He is responsible for personnel and material operational readiness and reports to the General Inspector of the Bundeswehr . The command of the armed forces base with the subordinate units is subordinate to the inspector . Until April 1, 2012, the Inspector of the Armed Forces Base was also the Deputy Inspector General. Since October 2012, he has no longer been a member of the Federal Ministry of Defense , but has been assigned to the Armed Forces Base , which was commissioned by the Bundeswehr Inspector General Volker Wieker with effect from October 1, 2012. The inspector and his deputy hold the rank of vice admiral and lieutenant general, respectively .
