The Logistics Command of the Armed Forces (LogKdoBw) is a service of the Joint Support of the Armed Forces and all as a command for the management and control of logistics forces of the armed forces base charge. In addition, it provides trained logistics troops for the operational tasks of the entire armed forces. The LogKdoBw assumes responsibility for the logistical business processes, for the further development of the logistical system of the Bundeswehr and for logistical training centrally for the Bundeswehr under the Federal Ministry of Defense .
structure
Structure of the command
The command is stationed in the Löberfeld barracks in Erfurt in the Löbervorstadt district . For reasons of space, parts are also stationed in a rented office building in the north of Erfurt.
The staff of the logistics command, led by a colonel , comprises three departments, each in turn led by a colonel / sea captain :

Subordinate troops
After the reclassification measures have been completed, the commander LogKdoBw will be subordinate to around 15,000 employees, and thus almost a third of the entire staff of the armed forces base, professionally and in terms of troops. The command area in the target structure thus includes roughly the same number of members as the German Navy . The LogKdoBw is in charge of all logistical forces of the Armed Forces Base (SKB):

Uniform and badge
The soldiers from the army branch , within the command area of the LogKdoBw, have been wearing the LogKdoBw's new association badge (sleeve badge) since December 2013 . The new association badge was approved by the Federal President as a change to the uniform. The background of the coat of arms has a medium blue background and is bordered with a silver-black braided cord. The federal eagle has a black, red gold background on a golden central shield.
history
The logistics command was set up on January 15, 2013. The roll call took place in the Löberfeld barracks in Erfurt . The new command takes over the tasks of the disbanded logistics office of the Bundeswehr from Sankt Augustin . The Logistic Master Data Management (LogStamM) group was relocated from Sankt Augustin to Siegburg and then to Erfurt.
The logistics command of the Bundeswehr is one of three new SKB capability commands set up in 2013, alongside the command and support command of the Bundeswehr (since July 1, 2017 the information technology command of the Bundeswehr in the cyber and information space ) and the territorial tasks command of the Bundeswehr .
On March 5, 2015 , a memorandum of agreement was signed with the US 21st Theater Sustainment Command (21st TSC) based in Kaiserslautern, which also includes the Miesau Army Depot .
The motor vehicle department of the logistics command of the Bundeswehr was spun off on April 1, 2018 and set up as an independent center for motor vehicles of the Bundeswehr (ZKfWBw) in Mönchengladbach - Rheindahlen . As part of a solemn roll call, the ZKfWBw was put into service by Major General Volker Thomas on April 20, 2018.
For the installation of the LogBtl 163 in Delmenhorst, the Umschlagkompanie Land See from LogBtl 161 as well as the Luftumschlagkompanie from LogBtl 171 are used; The task is the logistical support of NATO units - "RSOM" (Reception, Staging and Onward Movement)
