The center Kraftfahrwesen the Bundeswehr ( ZKfWBw ) is the military department of the Bundeswehr in the area of organization Joint Support in Mönchengladbach and the downstream 20 Kraftfahrausbildungezentren largest training institution of the Bundeswehr for course-based individual training.

The center Kraftfahrwesen the Bundeswehr takes all roads traffic law authorities functions for the division of the Ministry of Defense true. It is the recognition and supervisory authority of the Bundeswehr with regard to the training, testing and recognition of officially recognized experts and inspectors for motor vehicle traffic (aaS and aaP) in accordance with the Motor Vehicle Experts Act . The tasks of the Bundeswehr Center for Motor Vehicles also include keeping the register of Bundeswehr service driving permits issued, service driver's licenses issued and service vehicles approved by the Bundeswehr.

Driving training centers

Subordinate to the center are 20 driver training centers ( KfAusbZ ) as Bundeswehr driving schools . They carry out the basic driver training for all users of the Bundeswehr in the form of course-related individual training. Up to 1,920 learner drivers are trained at the same time.

history

The Bundeswehr Motor Vehicle Center was active as the Central Military Motor Vehicle Office (ZMK) at the same location in Mönchengladbach - Rheindahlen from 1956 to 2012 , before it was integrated into the Bundeswehr logistics command in Erfurt in 2013 . On April 1, 2018, the Bundeswehr Motor Vehicle Center was reorganized and the tasks of the Motor Vehicle Department / Central Military Motor Vehicle Office and the Motor Driver Training Centers (Ber KfAusbZ), which were previously subordinate to the Bundeswehr logistics school , were merged.

The first commander of the ZKfWBw is Lieutenant Colonel Robert Sistig . On April 20, 2018, during a ceremonial roll call, the commander of the logistics command of the Bundeswehr, Major General Volker Thomas , gave him command of the new department
