Official driving license
A service license is in Germany a special license to drive service vehicles by the army , federal police and police forces of the countries is granted and the 4 Chapter Special provisions for the keeping of official vehicles of the driving license regulations is regulated.
A service driver's license is issued for the company driving license. This applies only for the duration of the employment relationship and only for driving company vehicles. When the employment relationship is terminated, the service driver's license must be withdrawn. If the employment relationship is established again, the driver's license must be handed over again, provided that the official driving license is still valid, otherwise it can be newly acquired and issued. If a parallel general driving license is withdrawn, the official driving license expires at the same time.
During the duration of the employment relationship, the holder of a company driving license can acquire a comparable general driving license under simplified conditions.
armed forces
The Bundeswehr service driver's license is a driver's license for driving Bundeswehr service vehicles. In addition to the European driving license classes, there are the following federal defense classes:
- Class AY for class A motorcycles with a cylinder capacity of not more than 200 cm³ and a nominal power of not more than 15 kW
- Class F for full and half-track vehicles (also with trailers)
- Class G for armored wheeled vehicles (special vehicles)
- Class P for motor vehicles of class C or C1 for taking more than 8 but not more than 15 people in specially authorized spaces
The acquisition of a Bundeswehr driving license class requires a successful theoretical and practical driving test with the armed forces, even if a civilian driving license is available. But it can also be acquired without a civilian driving license, which is the so-called "B beginner".
A distinction must be made between two variants of the driver's license; the current one is no longer approved for driving civilian vehicles; this was still possible with the old Bundeswehr driver's license. With the exception of classes AY, F, G and P, the Bundeswehr driving license can be converted into a civil driving license by the responsible administrative authority.
The driver's license must be carried with you when driving a company vehicle and presented during controls.
Class B cars
An exception and simplification are cars of the class B driving license: Members of the Bundeswehr are allowed to drive class B service vehicles with the -B- license, provided they are in possession of the general class B driving license and have taken part in training on special provisions of the Bw. Driving skills are checked and documented by an aaP / aaS or sergeant who has been trained as a motor vehicle sergeant . A service driver's license is then issued by the Bundeswehr Motor Vehicle Center (ZKfWBw).
