Stefan Lüth

Stefan Lüth (born March 2, 1966 in Eutin ) is a Brigadier General of the Air Force of the German Armed Forces and since January 1, 2019, Sub-Department Head Armed Forces II at the Federal Ministry of Defense in Bonn .

Military career

Training and first uses

Stefan Lüth joined the German Armed Forces on July 1, 1985 as a conscript in the Air Force Training Regiment in Essen and, after completing his basic training as a fencer, joined the sports promotion group in Cologne . In 1986 the officers 'course at the Air Force officers' school in Fürstenfeldbruck followed, and from 1987 to 1991 the study of economics and organizational sciences at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg . Service as a staff officer

From 2000 to 2002 Lüth was General Staff Officer for Logistics in the Air Force Development Department at the Air Force Office in Cologne, then advisor for conception, planning and organization as well as profitability, company investments and controlling in the planning staff of the Federal Ministry of Defense in Berlin , before joining the Air Force command staff moved to Bonn as a consultant for ability and needs analysis, project management and deployment-related immediate needs. A troop command followed as commander of the Air Force Maintenance Regiment 2 in Diepholz ; During this time, he was temporarily employed as Chief of Staff Joint Monitoring and Coordination Office in the United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNMISS) in southern Sudan in 2011 . From 2012 to 2013 he worked in the Air Force Command in Berlin as Head of Planning, Conceptual Design and Development and from 2013 to 2015 as Head of Reorientation in the Organization and Auditing Department at the Federal Ministry of Defense in Berlin.

Service as a general

From February to June 2015, Lüth took over the post of deputy commander of the Air Force Support Units Command and Logistics Unit Commander, which was renamed the Air Force Command Support Units Commander on July 1, 2015. On this post he was also promoted to brigadier general. On February 22nd, 2017, he handed over this command to Colonel Gerhard Hewera and, as deputy commander of the logistics command of the Bundeswehr, succeeded Brigadier General Gerald Funke . After just a few months, he handed over this post to Brigadier General Thomas Hambach in order to take over the post of commander of the logistics school of the Bundeswehr on June 30, 2017, as the successor to Brigadier General Winfried Zimmer . He again handed over this post to Colonel André Denk on January 10, 2019 . Lüth became, as the successor to Brigadier General Wolfgang Gäbelein , Sub-Department Head Armed Forces II in the Federal Ministry of Defense in Bonn.
