The management staff of the medical service (Fü San) was a department in the Federal Ministry of Defense (BMVg) subordinate to the inspector of the medical service , which was responsible for the management of the central medical service of the Bundeswehr , and at the same time one of the five military command posts in the management area of the Bundeswehr . The management staff of the medical service was created through a restructuring of the Bundeswehr in 2002 and was the successor to the former inspection of the medical and health system (In San) in the BMVg, which was led by the inspector of the medical and health system. The staff was dissolved as part of the realignment of the Bundeswehr on September 30, 2012 and merged with parts of the medical management command and the medical office in the newly established medical service command of the Bundeswehr .

The inspector of the medical service

The inspector of the medical service headed the management staff and was responsible for ensuring the functionality and operational capability of his organizational area, the medical service of the Bundeswehr. The inspector of the medical service was subordinate to the Federal Minister of Defense. In contrast to the current situation, the inspector general of the Bundeswehr was only authorized to issue instructions to him in certain specialist matters.
