Mr. Rossi ( Italian Signor Rossi ) is an animated film character by the Italian animator Bruno Bozzetto . It is now one of the classics of cartoon films . Between 1960 and 1977 a total of 36 films of up to twenty minutes were made.

Overview

Between 1960 and 1974 he made seven short films with Mr. Rossi, each around ten minutes long, and six more appeared in 1972 as part of the comic show Gulp! on Rai 2 . In 1975 a series of eleven two-minute sports films followed. In 1976 the full-length film Mr. Rossi is looking for happiness was made , which Mr. Rossi dreams the following year and which in 1978 Mr. Rossi's holidays followed. Mr. Rossi also made a brief appearance in Bozzetto's film Allegro non troppo .

In Germany, Mr. Rossi was first seen in 1973 in the short film Mr. Rossi goes skiing on ZDF . Another short film followed in 1974 and the three long films from 1976 on German television . The actor Friedrich W. Bauschulte lent his voice to the character of Mr. Rossi . The dog Gaston (e) was spoken by Edgar Ott , the boss Arnold Marquis , the fairy Inge Wolffberg . Further short films were shown on RTL in 1985 , the sports clips for the first time in 1999 on Hessen TV .

In January 2007, the stage comic entitled Herr Rossi sucht das Glück was premiered at the Freiburg Theater by the Bulgarian video and theater artist Ivan Panteleev .

Figures and content of the series

In Herr Rossi sucht das Glück , Rossi leads the joyless life of a worker in a fish factory. He suffers from his cocky and choleric boss, whose villa, to make matters worse, is right next to Rossi's little house. Gaston, the boss's dog, also makes life difficult for him with his yapping.

A fairy appears and gives Rossi a whistle, which Rossi can use to travel through space and time so that he can find happiness there. Gaston, who accompanies him and whom the fairy on the pirate island also equips with the ability to speak, increasingly becomes a friend and companion for him. In every era, however, they encounter massive problems, and the hated boss in the form of a Roman emperor, medieval king, pirate captain, Indian chief and finally a galactic honorary citizen appears again and again. So they return to their everyday lives at the end of each episode without Rossi having found happiness. At the end of the series, this succeeds at least to a certain extent, as the boss himself blows the pipe and disappears from the present.

In Mr. Rossi dreams he works as a small accountant. The dog, who now goes by the name Gaston e , lives with him and does his household chores. On various occasions Rossi begins to dream to himself, in most cases literary models are implemented. Gastone also appears regularly, for example as a genie in a bottle or as a squire.

During the holidays of Mr Rossi , both of them drive across Italy with a camping trailer and spend a week of their holiday at the sea, on a farm, at a lake and in the high mountains.
