The admiral chief officer is one of the ranks of the German armed forces for naval uniform wearers . The legal basis is the order of the Federal President on the rank designations and uniforms of soldiers and the Soldiers Act .
Rank badge
The rank badge for senior admirals is essentially the same as for vice admirals . Career badges in the form of a staff of Aesculapia are used to distinguish between the Admirals . In the career badge for doctors, the snake winds in a double twist , for dentists in a single twist around the staff.
Others
The rank designation for air force and army uniform carriers of the same rank is General Oberstabsarzt . With regard to authority, appointment , pay , the subordinate and superior ranks, and also with regard to the positions, doctors of the Admiralty and General Staff are on an equal footing. Both ranks were newly created with the sixth order of the Federal President on the rank designations and the uniform of soldiers from May 5, 1966.

Remarks
- ↑ Left: Rank badge in the form of a shoulder flap for navy uniform wearers with a license to practice medicine. Right: sleeve badge on the lower sleeve of the jacket of the service suit for marine uniform wearers with a license to practice medicine.
- ↑ The stage manager dentistry , the highest specialist supervisor of all dentists , was previously a general doctor (or admiralty ) and will in future be a senior doctor (or fleet doctor ). In the future, the highest grade that dentists can achieve is the senior physician (or fleet physician ) for the time being. There have not been any dentists in the rank of General Oberstabsarzt (or Admiral Oberstabsarzt) in the Bundeswehr and will not exist for the time being. ZDv 37/10 “Suit regulations for soldiers in the Bundeswehr”, ZDv 20/7 “Regulations for the transport and for the recruitment, acceptance and admission of soldiers”, the order of the Federal President on the rankings and uniforms of soldiers as well as the Soldiers' Career Ordinance do not prevent dentists from being appointed (and marking their rank) as General Oberstabsarzt (or Admiral Oberstabsarzt), but the establishment plan and budget do not provide for a corresponding position .
