The Information Technology Battalion 383 ( ITBtl 383 ), stationed in the Henne barracks in the state capital Erfurt, is an office of the cyber and information space (CIR) of the Bundeswehr and is subordinate to the information technology command of the Bundeswehr . The information technology battalion 383 is divided into staff, staff platoon, a supply company and four operational companies.   • The 1st Company , as a supply company, is the battalion's central supporter. The battalion is supplied there, as is the responsibility for the maintenance and repair of materials and vehicles. Furthermore, she carries out the basic training , which was previously carried out by the 6th and 7th companies, which have now been dissolved. Furthermore, the company is subordinate to the management team of the mobile communication system of the Bundeswehr (MobKommSysBw) and a train of the military evacuation operations (MilEvakOp) at the Wesel location at the 1st NATO Signal Battalion .
  • The 2nd company provides specialists for the decentralized server troop (DSE). Furthermore, together with the management team of the 1st company, it sets up and operates the MobKommSysBw with its Trupp system, including property access nodes (LZKv) for the IT network in action and practice.
  • The 3rd company provides local deployable networks of the Bundeswehr (LVNBw) as well as the command information system for the armed forces (FüInfoSys SK) and thus guarantees the secure communication of command facilities.
  • The 4th company provides experts for global satellite communications for the German armed forces ( SATCOMBw ) and can also transmit data via digital radio relay.
  • The 5th company has various IT systems, such as a trunked radio system for data and voice ( Tetrapol ), HF radio and a video conference system.

history

As part of a celebratory handover appeals on June 30, 2017, the command support command of the Bundeswehr was subordinated to the cyber and information room command. At the same time, the Bundeswehr Command Support Command was renamed the Bundeswehr Information Technology Command and the Command Support Battalion 383 was renamed Information Technology Battalion 383.
