history

Until 2002, the EloKa forces of the army, air force and navy were integrated into their respective armed forces. Their training was based on their armed forces-specific tasks. In addition, there was the Bundeswehr intelligence office belonging to the central military area (today: armed forces base) .

The EloKa forces of the Bundeswehr were brought together with the transformation of the Bundeswehr in the armed forces base, the training was centralized in Flensburg. At the same time, the training of the officers and sergeants in command area 2, Military Intelligence, was transferred to the school in Flensburg. This was previously carried out in Bad Ems at the Bundeswehr Intelligence School (SNBw), which was subordinate to the Bundeswehr Intelligence Office . Courses and briefings for the German military attachés also took place there. In peacetime, the school was subordinate to the Front Message Training Company 300 as a training unit, which at that time trained the soldiers of the Front Message Force and was responsible for the further development of the Field Message Force.

In 2002 the office became the Bundeswehr Intelligence Center (ZNBw). The school became part of the center in 2003 as a teaching group for military communications . The ZNBw itself was dissolved again in 2007 and the military intelligence teaching group was largely integrated into the Bundeswehr School for Strategic Reconnaissance. Only the training of military attachés remained with the Strategic Reconnaissance Command. Since 2008 the School for Strategic Reconnaissance of the German Armed Forces has been training all forces in military intelligence (MilNW) and electronic warfare (EloKa).
