Werner Haumann

Werner Haumann (* 15. January 1955 in Marl ) is a Major General of the Air Force of the Armed Forces out of service . In his last post he was Deputy Chief of Staff (DCoS) support at Allied Joint Force Command Naples in Naples , Italy .

Military career

Training and first uses

Haumann joined the Bundeswehr in 1975. He studied aerospace and was trained as a logistics officer. He was the squadron chief at the Technical School of the Air Force 3 in Faßberg and adjutant to the commander of the Air Force Support Command in Cologne-Wahn .

Service as a staff officer

From 1989 to 1991 Haumann completed the general staff course at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg . He then worked as a logistics staff officer at Allied Command Europe Mobile Forces in Heidelberg in the Air division and later in the Crisis Reaction Forces division. In 1994 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and was transferred to the Air Force Support Command as head of unit. In 1996 he was transferred to the Federal Ministry of Defense in Bonn , where he was used in the armaments department . A year later he became adjutant to the inspector general of the Bundeswehr . In 2000, Haumann took part in the European Security Training Course at the Geneva Center for Security Policy in Geneva . In October 2000 he took over command of the Air Force Supply Regiment 3 in Landsberg am Lech . In April 2001 he was promoted to colonel . From 2002 to 2003 he was head of the logistics department in the armed forces office in Bonn. Then Haumann was Head of Logistics at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe of NATO in Mons , Belgium . In 2005 he became department head Fü L II 2 (Bundeswehr planning, implementation control) in the air force command staff in the Federal Ministry of Defense.

Service as a general

In December 2009, Haumann was promoted to brigadier general and appointed head of the Fü L II staff department (logistics, armaments, planning) in the air force's command staff. From October 2012 to July 2015 he was the head of the support department in the Air Force Command . In 2016 Haumann completed the Senior Course at the NATO Defense College in Rome. From September 1, 2016 to September 2019, he was Deputy Chief of Staff (DCoS) Support at the Allied Joint Force Command Naples in Naples (Italy). After handing over this post, he retired after 44 years of service.
