Gerhard Kerscher

Gerhard Kerscher (born May 10, 1916 in Halle an der Saale ; † June 17, 1998 ) was a German officer , most recently in the rank of major general in the Bundeswehr .

Life

Kerscher was used as a pilot of transport aircraft during the Second World War before he switched to the General Staff of the Air Force of the Wehrmacht . After the Second World War and later during his active time in the Bundeswehr, Kerscher ran a building materials business. In the air force of the German armed forces he became chief of the command staff of the air force and later deputy inspector of the air force .

Kerscher was temporarily president of the Freundeskreis Luftwaffe e. V. and Vice President of the “Club der Luftfahrt von Deutschland e. V. "

In 1976 he was awarded the Great Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .
