Ri Sol-ju ( 리 설주 , 李雪 主 or 李雪 珠 ; * 1989) is the wife of the North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un .

The official North Korean news agency Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) announced on July 25, 2012 that Kim Jong-un had married Ri Sol-ju. The exact time of the wedding has not yet been announced. At the side of her husband, she often took part in the extensive inspection tours (“on-site instructions”) across North Korea and thus presented herself to the public.

Ri Sol-ju was a singer and member of the Unhasu orchestra before she married Kim Jong-un.

In October 2012, there was speculation about her person because she no longer appeared in public on the side of Kim Jong-un. It has been suggested that she either fell out of favor or was disciplined, and there was speculation about a possible pregnancy. However, shortly afterwards, Ri and her husband reappeared in public during an inspection at a military school. In December 2012, news agencies increasingly reported that Ri Sol-ju was pregnant. Former American basketball player Dennis Rodman first reported to the international press in March 2013 after a visit to North Korea that Ri Sol-ju had given birth to a healthy daughter. Since 2015 it has appeared less often in media reports. At the end of March 2018, Ri Sol-ju, the First Lady of North Korea, accompanied her husband on a state visit to China.
