Stephen Wilkinson

Stephen Henry Wilkinson (* 1956 ) is a British writer , journalist and translator .

Life

He visited Cuba for the first time in 1986 and has been traveling across the island ever since. The chairman of the International Institute for the Study of Cuba , based in the UK, did his PhD on Cuban literature. He lectures on politics and international relations at Buckingham University . He has written numerous articles on various issues such as the history of European-United States relations with Cuba, Cuba's attitudes and policies towards homosexuals, Cuban art, and the nature of the Cuban state. His other duties include teaching at King's College London , editor of the International Journal of Cuban Studies , contributing to IHS Sentinel reports on Cuba and dealing with various media projects on the island. He is an experienced tour guide in Cuba and often leads academic study groups and people to bring exchange programs to the island. His many contacts there contribute significantly to the experience for the visitors.
