The Stepping Stone Pond (English for stepping stone pool ) is a small and frozen freshwater pool in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Wright Valley , it is 600 m east-northeast of Craig Pond in the Labyrinth plain .
Scientists from the United States Antarctic Program who explored it between 2003 and 2004 gave it its descriptive name. It is named after a series of naturally arranged stepping stones , over which the lake is easy to cross.
