Stereo steering
The stereo steering is a special development for compact wheel loaders , which allows extremely high maneuverability of the wheel loader. This is particularly desirable in (narrow) road construction. Usually wheel loaders only have an articulated steering , i. H. the wheel loader is steered exclusively by the articulated joint located in the middle of the wheel loader. The wheels on the axles are not turned. The stereo steering developed by Liebherr combines the usual articulated steering with additional steering on the rear axle of the wheel loader; the wheels are turned as with any other vehicle with tires, but in this case additionally.
Construction principle
- Combination of articulated steering and steering axle at the rear for a tight turning radius and high stability
- Combination of pendulum articulation and pendulum axle at the rear for a reduced pendulum distance between cab and driver and thus relaxed and quiet work
Due to their design, these compact class wheel loaders are extremely manoeuvrable and show particularly smooth handling.
