The Sternstrasse ( Arabic شارع النجمة, DMG Šāriʿ an-Naǧma 'Street of the Star') is a street in the city of Bethlehem in the West Bank .

The beginning of Sternstraße is about 100 meters west of the Krippenplatz on Sternplatz ( Lage ), a small triangular square in the course of Paul-VI.-Straße. in the middle of the square there is a fountain in the shape of a five-pointed star, which is called the star fountain or peace fountain. The road initially leads north and bends to the east after about 30 meters. Then it returns to the north in an arcuate course. At the roundabout of the Katholische Aktion ( Lage ), the Sternstraße turns east again and leads again in an arc to the north to the Krippenstraße, where it ends opposite the Evangelical Immanuelkirche ( Lage ).

The section of the Star road between the roundabout of Catholic Action and the star place is a section of the historic pilgrimage to the Church of the Nativity and heard as part of the World Heritage Site " birthplace of Jesus Christ: the Nativity and pilgrimage, Bethlehem " to UNESCO World Heritage . On this part the street is lined with one to two story buildings, most of which date from the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. Outstanding examples of the architecture of this time are Dar Mansour and Dar Ghazawi near Sternplatz.
The street leads through the Al-Zarara Gate ( Lage ), the former main gate of Bethlehem in the north of the old town, and past the Church of Our Lady ( Lage ). At the confluence of Salesianerstraße is the Bethlehem Icon Center ( Lage ) with a school for icon painting . On the site of the Center of Catholic Action ( Lage ) east of the roundabout named after her, there is the David Fountain with three cisterns from the Canaanite period.
