Britta Sandberg

Britta Sandberg (* 1964 ) is a German journalist . The former head of Spiegel's foreign affairs department is a correspondent for the news magazine in Paris.

Career

Britta Sandberg studied political science , history and American studies at the University of Munich and the Institut d'études politiques de Paris . At the beginning of her journalistic career she worked for Radio France Internationale in Paris as well as the Süddeutsche Zeitung and Bayerischer Rundfunk in Munich. From 1990 Sandberg worked at Spiegel TV , first as a reporter , later as a presenter and chief editor of Spiegel TV Reportage and Spiegel TV Magazin. In 2006 she moved to Spiegel's international department . In 2012, she became the first woman in the history of the news magazine to head a political department and was responsible for the international department until 2019. Since then she has worked as the foreign policy correspondent for Spiegel in Paris.

Sandberg has been traveling regularly to Ramatuelle on the Côte d'Azur since the late 1980s . Her knowledge of the region flowed into a travel guide published by DuMont Buchverlag for the first time in 1991 , which has since appeared in several revised editions.
