Steve Lawson

Steve Lawson (* 1972 ) is a British bass player .

He started playing bass at the age of 14 and became a sought-after studio and live musician. Since 1999 Steve Lawson has mainly been playing as a solo bassist. With his looping technique and the targeted use of effects he manages to create rich soundscapes, always true to his motto "the bass, the whole bass and nothing but the bass".

With his solo program he was, among other things, the opening act for Level 42 and 21st Century Schizoid Band . In addition to his own appearances in the USA, Great Britain and France , he is also regularly touring with the US- American solo bassist Michael Manring .

Steve Lawson has released three solo albums and two albums with other musicians on his Pillow Mountain Records label.

As a journalist, Steve Lawson has worked regularly for Bassist , Guitarist Magazine , The Independent On Sunday , Third Way , Bass Player and Bass Guitar Magazine , among others .

Steve Lawson lives and teaches in Southgate , North London .
