Steven Brooks (* 1973 ) is an American politician and former member of the Nevada Assembly . As their first member, he was expelled from parliament by a vote of the MPs with a two-thirds majority .

In 2010 Brooks was elected for the first time for the Democrats in the lower house of the Nevada Parliament. He represented the north of Las Vegas there . In 2012 he was re-elected. He was arrested for the first time on January 19, 2013 for threatening to kill Democratic spokeswoman Marilyn Kirkpatrick . The background was his dissatisfaction with the parliamentary committees to which she had sent him. After being sworn in, he was arrested for the second time on February 10th, this time on charges of domestic violence. A non-partisan commission formed for this purpose then recommended his parliamentary exclusion with a vote of 6 to 1, which took place on March 28th. A few hours later he was arrested again for allegedly using violence against the driver of a tow truck. He then tried to evade the police in a 23- mile chase. Because of the chase he was imprisoned in California and released after a year. A court in Nevada subsequently sentenced him to one to three years probation for the attack on his wife and the police officers who were brought in to help.

After an argument with customers and police officers in a grocery store, he was arrested again in late April 2019.

Before his election to the state parliament, he worked as an assistant to a city council member in Las Vegas. He had four children at the time.
